At our last meeting on Tuesday we enjoyed a combined evening of food and drink, presentation of various awards and an allegedly light hearted quiz. Plenty of fishing talk and yarns being swapped over drinks and a nibble or two before Chairman Pete got down to the serious business of presenting the awards. In the Novice fly tying category the award was won by Owen Reynolds for his Stoat’s Tail. Here we see him receiving the Shield from Pete.
Following this a very surprised Roy McAdam received the Open class award for his Prince Nymph.
The prize for the Imitative fly pattern went to Paul Aston for his Upwing mayfly imitation.
Roger Smith picked up the Roy McAdam shield for the best photographic entry submitted.
The chairman’s award for the person who, in his opinion, has contributed a great service to the branch was none other than our shopkeeper Mark Siviter.
Following the awards we settled down to a well fought out quiz which was a close run contest in the end but won by the ‘Blue Zulus’ with an impressive score. No prizes for winning just the honour and kudos!
A big thank you to Ken and Mrs. Ken for arranging a calorie laden feast and to the committee for laying out the room and food and clearing away at the end of the night. Thanks also to Tony Woods and his Canon for taking the photographs once again.
All in all a great night which brought our indoor season to a close and well done to the worthy award winners.
