The Patshull Park opener held on Sunday 30th March saw the gathering of 11 intrepid fly dressers with primed ‘bait’ that had been created over the winter months. After an impressive breakfast sandwich washed down with a warm drink 6 boats set out on the lake to try and lure their catch. A slight wind hampering the cast most boats ventured not far from the lodge which was the place to be. After 4 1/2 hours boats heading back to the lodge for the ‘weigh in’. Pete Major taking the spoils for the morning event with his haul of fish beating other competitors out of sight. The trophy was awarded to Pete by event organisor Russell Heath before the hardened or determined anglers taking back to the water in the search of more fish. On the whole yet another super event with thanks to Russell for organising and the staff of Patshull Park for the hospitality.
