RULES AMENDED AGM 2018

1.

This branch shall be called The Worcester Fly Dressers, Worcester Branch of the Fly Dressers Guild (FDG).
Its objectives are:
The cultivation of the art of fly dressing. The encouragement of all sporting aspects of game angling and to provide a pleasant social environment for like-minded enthusiasts.
No person may become a member of the Branch without being a member of the Fly Dressers Guild (FDG).
Prospective members will be granted temporary membership whilst under instruction, during a club visit, show, exhibition or during a sampling session, two free visits to a club meeting, after which they will be expected to decide whether to join or not.
Members may invite a guest for the evening which will be charged at the rate of £5 for each guest per evening. This charge is payable on the evening by the member inviting the guest. The amount of the levy is reset by the Committee as and when required.

2.

No member shall use the name of the Guild in the pursuance of professional or commercial interests.

Prior consent from the Committee is required in connection with any trade or other exhibition

The Committee of the local branch shall consist of the following Officers elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM):
Chairman

Vice Chairman

Honorary secretary
Honorary treasurer
three committee members
Four members shall be required to form a quorum at a Committee meeting.
A member co-opted by the Committee may fill any vacancy.
A President may be elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) or an Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) and shall be an ex-officio non-voting member of the Committee

If the Worcester Fly Dressers should be dissolved then the assets thereof shall, after discharge of all liabilities, be transferred to any successor or charity as voted by the members.

The general management of the branch shall be vested in the Committee, which shall have full power to arrange and transact all business of the branch; deal with any matters that may arise not provided for herein, and have the power to co-opt members & appoint sub-committees for special purposes.

7.

Committee meetings shall be held as often as necessary, but not less than three per year.
Adequate notice will be given to each Committee member of the dates of meetings.

Any member of the branch, that is not a member of the Committee, may attend any Committee meeting and shall be eligible to take part in any discussions, but is not entitled to vote thereon.

9.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) shall be held during the month of March.

10.

The Chairman should have the power to call an Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) for any specific purpose. An Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) can also be called for at the written request, of ten members to the Honorary Secretary. At such a meeting, which shall be called within three months of such notice, no vote may be taken on any other subjects except those for which the meeting was called.

These rules can only be altered or rescinded by a simple majority of members, voting, by Postal, Email, or Present at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) or an Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM) called for the purpose. Notice of any proposed alteration to these rules shall be submitted by a member in writing, to the Honorary Secretary at least 28 days prior to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) or an Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM).

12.

The Treasurer shall be responsible for the financial business of the Branch and will submit financial statements to the Committee at each Committee meeting.
The financial year will end on 31st March and audited accounts submitted to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in March.
Auditors shall be appointed by the Committee.
Payments shall be authorised by any two of the three: the chairman, honorary secretary, and honorary treasurer.

13.

The Committee has the right to terminate membership or refuse application for membership.

14.

The annual subscription will be determined at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in March. Subscriptions to cover the subscription year April to March will be paid in full, in the September of the same subscription year. New members will pay, upon joining the Branch, a monthly pro-rata subscription based on the number of sessions left in the subscription year compared with the total number if sessions in that same subscription year.
