On Saturday July 6th the club attended the Hanbury Country Show. This is a one day show the club has attended for a number of years to promote fly tying and the club. Again there was a good attendance at the show and the weather was reasonably kind with only the odd shower. Over the coarse of the day we had steady flow of people coming to the tent where they watched members tying a variety of flies. People were encouraged to have a go at tying and it was encouraging that a number of youngsters were prepared to have a go.In addition to the tying we set a small casting area where children could test their skills at a series of targets. Thanks go to Doug and Terry for looking after the casting and dodging the odd shower while we stayed in the dry. It was also a special day as we had a club member back on the stand after nearly two years absence due a serious illness. It was great to see Ken back on form and taking part in club shows once again.
