Last evening we hosted Stuart Foxall as our guest fly tyer and utilised him as the presenter of the Annual Fishing trophy to the worthy winner Andrew Worthington.
For those who did not attend the event at Eyebrook reservoir (and there were many) we endured a really tough day with cold northerly winds and very uncooperative fish. Finding the right method was tricky and a number of anglers failed to trouble the scalesman unfortunately. Andrew had three fish with Roy McAdam and yours truly on two. Nevertheless it was a fun day out with a good breakfast to start and a Beefeater meal on the way home.
On a serious note, it was disappointing that so many members chose not to attend as at the last AGM it was the wish of the members to hold the weekend away and Colin Taylor trophy as separate events. Having taken that on board and arranged it all, the support was not good.
Below we see Andrew receiving the Colin Taylor trophy from Stuart Foxall.
