Christmas Social event

This week we provided members with a full table of goodies with drinks at our pre-Christmas social event. The committee feel that it is important to encourage the social aspects of our club and this is one way of doing so. On arrival guests were greeted by the sight of an appetising spread.

Bob Cooper had worked hard to lay on background DVD’s and some Christmas lights and decorations whilst Tony Woods provided music. The members got a chance to catch up  whilst tucking into the spread laid on by the committee.

After some eats and drinks the serious business of the quiz started. Ken and yours truly had devised a set of questions on various fly fishing related topics. Teams were settled and it was evident that this was to be a hard fought contest with some serious concentration amongst the teams.

After five separate rounds of questions scores were quite tight but, the ‘dream team’ of Andrew, Owen and Richard prevailed on the day and took the trophy. Here we see Chairman Pete doing the honours.

So, after an excellent night it was down to a mass clear up of uneaten food and putting the room back together. It seems that those who attended enjoyed themselves and some excellent prizes were won in the raffle thanks to Ken’s efforts and Ken Giles’s kindness in donating a fly vest.

Merry Christmas to one and all.
