At the recent CLA Game Fair at Alcester several members of our branch attended to man the Fly Dressers Guild stand over the 3 days of the event. We were kindly allowed to put the display on the Countryside Alliance stand.
Chairman Pete Webb plus Ken, Paul and myself looked after the stand on a rota basis and over the days received visits from Charles Deverill, Bob Cooper, Mark Siviter and Tony Woods. To be truthful due to our location we were not overly busy with members of the public but there was sufficient interest to keep us busy and entertainment was provided by Paul Aston who ‘spiced up’ the proceedings.
The below show the team in action:
Last Friday Ken put on a Buzzers and Bangers evening at the Lenches lakes, courtesy again of the ever helpful Amanda Badger. The event was to be a BBQ plus a little fishing afterwards for the ‘evening rise’. There was a healthy turnout of members who munched their way through Ken’s offerings washed down with some ale and a good time was had by all.
The fishing turned out to be a little disappointing and all anglers were well and truly ‘skunked’ but that did not detract from an enjoyable evening. Thanks to Ken for dreaming the idea up and putting it all together, the members for turning up and Amanda for allowing us use of the lake and lodge.
