Malvern Show report

Malvern Autumn Show

Three Counties Show Ground Malvern

It’s nice to see a plan come together and even more to see the appreciation of our visitors. I could not have been more pleased with our tyers not only were they busy tying a vast variety of flies for the curious onlookers but also encouraging the spectators to get involved.

Outside, our fly casting instructors were busy getting all levels of visitors casting from novice to the well-practiced elite; everyone was encouraged to participate in the casting competition, which kept our experts busy for two days of instructive fun.

Other activities were also available. The Youth Angling Project were fishing with the next generation of anglers on the lake;Truly Custom Rods were displaying a range of handmade rods; Dave Pugh Lure Angling UK was demonstrating how lures function in water; Louise from Opal was busy with young entomologists pond dipping; UK Fishing Flies had a full range of flies and materials for sale and Amanda from the Lenches Lakes not only staffed her presentation stand but also provided the trout in the tank on display in the centre of our marquee. Thanks again Amanda

Caroline and Chris from the Fly Dressers Guild joined our crew and were impressed with the enthusiasm of our Branch, so much so they remarked that ‘The Guild would be delighted to support the Worcester Branch at other shows in whatever way works best for you.’

Well Done Everyone who gave their support before, during and after the event.

Ken Nutting (WFD event’s organiser)
