Last night we invited Stuart Foxall to come to the club to give us talk and fly tying demonstration. Stuart is one of the leading tyers in the country particularly tying salmon flies. Stuart tied a range of salmon/ sea trout flies explaining in the process the type of materials used and techniques used in how to tye them to best effect.
In addition Stuart gave us some information on the different techniques in fishing the various flies and his salmon fishing experiences fishing in Scotland and Canada. It was thoroughly entertaining evening and the club extends its thanks to Stuart for sharing his skills and knowledge with us.
In addition to the talk the club had two trophy presentations to make and Stuart kindly did the honours.
Firstly Tony Mitchell was presented with the Novice Fly tying award and secondly Paul Aston received his shield for winning the open category in the annual club tying competition, congratulations to both of them.
