Tim Wood was our guest tyer on 28th September and as part of the evening he presented Guild awards and trophies to club members. First to receive his award was Pete Webb who attained the gold award along with his instructors award. Pete can now join the team of instructors in the club who help newcomers to the art of fly tying and more proficient tyers attain Guild awards.
Next to receive his award was Terry Kinrade who also achieved his Gold award along with the Grayling award for speciality flies. This now means the club has five members who have achieved their Gold award which shows the level of skill within the club.
The first of the trophies to be awarded was the Photographic trophy which was judged by Roy McAdam. This was won by Trevor Hughes this year, congratulations to Trevor.
Next up was the Innovative Fly award which was awarded to Charles Deverill for his entry on our Annual Fly Tying night, well done to Charles.
The Chairman’s award goes to the club member who the chairman feels has contributed the most to the club over the current year. This includes helping out club meetings, his work on the committee and helping out at the shows we attend throughout the year. This year it goes to Terry Kinrade.
Lastly we have the Colin Taylor Memorial Trophy awarded to the winner of the annual fishing competition which this year was won by Mark Siviter
Congratulations to all the members who gained their Guild Fly Tying awards and to the winners of all the trophies.
