Tuesday 7th October saw Mark Roberts receive a warm welcome back at Worcester Branch. The scene was set with Mark aiming to give snippets of information relating to flies designed for River Trout and Grayling. Mark demonstrated a range of flies from the micro midge tied on a size 28 hook followed by parachute emerger and finally the reversed Olive Dun. We were reminded of some of the tools and materials that can be used and in particular wing burners for producing realistic looking wings.
The flies demonstrated by Mark will be available to review on the website soon.
Mark shared too his experiences of how to fish these flies with the emphasis primarily on presentation with the aim to be more productive and effective in catching fish.
As part of his duty on the evening, Mark presented Steve Reece with his certificate and badge for successful completion of the Silver level of the Fly Dressers Guild accreditation scheme.
